Understanding Value Management and SAP BW [Guidebook]

Was once asked, just how does one business make money versus how another business makes money.

Having sold seeds when I was six, Christmas cards most years from 6 to 12, gourds and leafs to tourist, and been a water well driller, as well as a Project Manager on dozens of projects and a serial entrepreneur, it turns out, it is very simple.

You pour money, shake it all about, and if you're real lucky, you have a little profit left over.

Then you rinse and repeat the profit making cycle.

What does this have to do with our primary focus - which is SAP Business Warehouse Consulting and more generally, datawarehousing concepts

It helps to answer the question as to why you must have good data, about every single element of your business, at all times.

Capital-to-Profit Making Loop

Whether it is Sales, Cost, Production, Human Resources (HRMS or HCM), Administrative, or any of the other almost infinite number of business processes you encounter in business, the processes will be found somewhere in the Capital-to-Profit Making circle above (you might know it as the Cash-to-Cash cycle time).

Higher Quality of Information Equals Higher Profit

And the better quality the information you have, the more mobile the information you have, the more accessible and focused the information you have, the faster you can make the wheel spin.

Why faster?

Because all profit making business' essentially exist to run their dollars through their system to add profit to them.  So the quicker you spin it, the more you make.
