From Flight Deck to Digital Strategy — The Red Thread
A Mission-Driven Journey Through Technology and Leadership

My professional journey began not in tech—but in the U.S. Air Force. I served as a C-130 Flight Engineer, an F-4 Phantom II Crew Chief, and eventually as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer, managing fleets of B-52s, C-5As, C-130s, and F-16s and hundreds of people who maintained them. That disciplined, systems-based approach to operations would later define my consulting ethos.

After the military, I supported Oracle-based systems for the Royal Saudi Air Force, then transitioned to SAP Arabia in 1999. There, I was Professional Services Manager, and earned multiple SAP certifications:

  • SAP Materials Management (MM)
  • SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
  • SAP Project Management (ASAP)
  • SAP Continuous Business Improvement (CBI)

SAP Arabia hired me not for my IT background, but for my leadership, discipline, and mission-oriented mindset—qualities that remain at the core of everything I deliver. We quickly became the top performing market unit within all of SAP.

Delivering Results from Dubai to Madrid, Indiana to Catalunya
Enterprise Leadership, Global Impact

Following SAP Arabia, I held senior SAP roles across Europe and the Middle East, including:
- Senior Program Manager at SAP Spain, where I led enterprise MRO implementations
- Industry Principal at SAP MENA (Dubai), with a $4.5M sales quota and dual delivery/sales responsibility across Aerospace, Defense, and Utilities

I’ve led multi-million dollar SAP initiatives across five continents, helping clients improve business performance, data clarity, and operational outcomes.

Thought Leadership at 30,000 Feet and Ground Level

Where SAP Meets Inbound Marketing

Recognizing the growing importance of digital lead generation, I built a dual practice in Inbound Marketing and Inbound Sales Enablement, specializing in HubSpot CRM, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Ads for SAP ecosystem players.

As a Certified PMP, Balanced Scorecard Consultant, and HubSpot Certified Partner, I help SAP consultancies, ISVs, and clients bridge the gap between digital visibility and enterprise transformation.

I Make it Rain

While my focus was SAP, especially SAP Partners and SAP Customers, my customer base has grown to include Entertainers, Insurance Companies, Mobile App Developers, Accountants, Custom Shoe Designers and Ecommerce based businesses, and many, many more.  The skills me and my team bring to the table, while unique and highly valuable, have proven to be valuable in virtually any setting.

Strategy Before Tactics

4 D SAP Delivery Methodology

For many SAP customers, improving your SAP system cannot be done without further investment in SAP expertise, something you do not have in-house.  Our unique 4 D Delivery Framework solves that problem using a proven 4 step process, based on years of SAP delivery work, across dozens of projects.

Phase
1
Discovery

Initial Contact and Discovery

In our initial session, we often find clients who aren't quite sure what they need. But they do know that SAP is supposed to do it, perhaps it even did it in a past company where they worked with SAP.

During our initial meeting, we will 'discover' what your requirements are.  You may have comprehensive requirements documents, or you may need to develop requirements.  That's where I come in.  I am an ex-SAP Industry Principal, and in fact, hold or have held, six different SAP Industry Certifications:

  • Aerospace & Defense
  • Professional Services
  • Logistics
  • Travel & Transportation
  • Engineering, Construction & Operations
  • Utilities

Why is this important to know and why do you want to speak to me before you take any other step?  Because I can often tell you what the real scope is of your project, beyond just you need someone such as a SAP Finance consultant.  Many of our clients come to us with somewhat vague requirements.  I am able to ask a series of questions and diagnose just what they need, from both a SAP license requirement and a SAP Consulting Requirement.

  • How Do We Jointly Determine What You Need
    • Get NDA signed
    • Review any existing requirements documentation
    • Initial project scoping discussions
    • Preliminary Budget Estimation
    • Identify Key Users
    • Provide first 'rough-cut' plan

Phase
2
Design

Statement of Work

During this phase, we transition from 'getting to know you and your business' to setting you up for success.

Statement of Work Signed Based on Initial Discovery Work

During this phase, we will provide you with initial Scope Document that will list

  • Deliverables
  • Assumptions
  • Project Timelines
  • Terms & Conditions
  • Rate Card

We believe in total transparency when it comes to project resource pricing.  While it is not usually possible nor even desirable to provide a Fixed Cost/Fixed Scope proposal, we can provide a rate card, which is generally inclusive of all SAP Consulting Roles from Project Manager through Functional and Technical Consulting Roles.

Business Case

It is highly desirable to also provide a preliminary high-level business case.  We have tools, in the form of templates that can quickly provide a TCO analysis of your project.

Phase
3
Development

Implementation Phase

We Now Move to Delivering Your New Business Solution

Initial Project Kick-Off and Team Setup

  • Onboarding of SAP team members
  • System Access
  • Initial Project Plan
  • Project Charter
    • Please note: The project charter officially kicks-off the charter, and incorporates the SOW and other documents.
  • Project Management Plan
  • Project Communication Plan
  • Project Change Management Plan
  • Establish all other project standards and procedures.

We follow the SAP ASAP methodology for small system extensions.  For Greenfield Implementations, Carve-Outs, Upgrades and Mergers, we follow the SAP Activate Methology.

Phase
4
Deployment

Project Go-Live

Go-Live is Just the Beginning

Go-Live and Hypercare Support

Much of the following happens just prior to Go-Live.

  • Teams are Trained
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Accomplished
  • All Transports are Done
  • Data Migration Done
  • End-User Training Delivered
  • Process First Transactions

In general, most SAP projects, regardless of size or scope have a Post Go-Live period where the SAP implementation teams monitor and respond to any issues.

Phase
5
Continuous Optimization

Continuous Business Improvement Phase

System Optimization and Improvement

SAP systems are never truly 'done'.  That is why SAP clients who have taken their system live move into what we call the 'Continuous Business Improvement' phase, a key part of the implementation methodology.

What Happens During This Phase

  • Development of a 'Next Phase' Improvement Roadmap
  • Prioritization of Improvements Based on Expected ROI
  • Initiation of Next Project Improvement Phase

Why Do You Need This Phase?

SAP is an enormous system, with 16 core modules, and at least 31 SAP Industry Solutions, a vast Partner eco-system with additional SAP Partner solutions that have been vetted by SAP.  Most SAP clients have implemented only a small fraction of the available functionality for a variety of reasons:

  • Limited Budget During Initial Implementation
  • Resistance to Change
  • Changing Business Priorities.

That's why we know you need to have your SAP roadmap developed well in advance of your yearly budget cycle.
