Job Summary

Provides full generalist HR support to one or more functional units or to a mid to large size manufacturing facility. Serves as employee advocate for unit to assure fair and consistent administration of local employment policies and practices. Advises management personnel on a broad range of issues including HR policies and processes. Identifies HR issues related to short-term and long-term business plans and objectives; develops and implements initiatives to address those issues. Continually upgrades the organization’s capacity to attract, retain and manage the talent it needs to succeed. Integrates work with that of other functions.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Manages core HR processes for organizational unit, including staffing, performance management, compensation administration, career development, leadership development and succession planning.

 

Serves as expert on all HR processes for internal client groups. 


Performs surveys, benchmarking studies and research regarding alternative or advanced employment practices used in other businesses; makes appropriate recommendations for change.


Responsible for increasing the organization’s capability to attract, retain, and effectively utilize its human resources assets.

Be accountable for strategic alignment, management of process results, continuous process improvement and migration of process best practices across the company.

Engage in effective conflict resolution with respect to employee relations and performance management issues.
Identify short and long term HR issues related to the organization’s objectives, and develop and implement initiatives to address those issues.

Expected Areas of Competence

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related HR software.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, in a team-oriented environment.
Proven track record of effective process management and improvement.


Ability to tolerate ambiguity, handle multiple priorities, and identify creative solutions to complex problems.
Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments and creating new tools or solutions to achieve business results. 

High level of energy, personal accountability and integrity.

Proven ability to assess candidates to the Company competencies at all levels.
Knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations. Working knowledge of statistical tools and analysis techniques.

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in human resources management, labor relations, business administration or related field plus a minimum 8-10 years experience in a manufacturing professional human resources management position.
