Job Description: Associate Developer Java

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Associate Developer is responsible for designing, developing, programming and/or integrating highly interactive, multimedia websites. The Associate Developer will build Flash components and functionality for applications that will be used broadly across web and mobile platforms. The candidate should have a strong desire to solve challenging technical problems and provide innovative solutions, be organized and proactive, and have excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be expected to interact in a fast-paced, professional, and multicultural work environment, should be able to manage time well and must possess excellent communication skills.


FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze and review functional/technical specifications which identify specific interfaces, methods, parameters , procedures or functions as required

• Develop code to specifications, based on standard development and documentation standards

• Track and resolve functional defects of varying sizes and severity

• Participate in structured team code reviews making suggestions where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience/certifications and documented OJT
• 1-3 years Java development, database modeling, stored procedures, jobs, complex queries and modifications.
• Working knowledge of Object Oriented programming methodology and knowledge of current industry standard design patterns.
• Basic database scripting and programming skills in developing stored procedures, triggers, automation, etc.
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Deliver project assignments on time and with high quality


PLUS QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with agile methodologies and Jira
• Working knowledge and/or hands-on experience with Oracle/SQL Server, Integration Services, and Reporting Services.
• Development experience in ATG/Oracle Commerce framework a plus
• Experience working with high-volume websites, preferably e-commerce related and/or a multi-channel/multi-brand environment.
• Experience leading development teams in architecture, design, and task delegation
