I founded and run my own SAP implementation company. SAP Consulting Companies come in many shapes and sizes. Mine is a specialist in using the SAP ASAP implementation methodology and SAP Activate Methodology, to deliver the transformational power of SAP Industry Solutions. The success of your SAP implementation comes down to having a solid business case, a strong change management approach, the right SAP implementation team members and above all, a focus on the finish line.
Regardless of which SAP implementation methodology you use, or which SAP Partner Implementation Methodology you use, the 1st line in the project plan is the presence of a Business Case. Just as often, when I am running a new project, I have there was never a business case developed. That's because they 'hard to do'.
These days, me and my team use advanced AI base tools to help generate business cases. Notice that I said help, not do it completely. As a business consultant with decades of SAP project implementation experience, I've worked with all of the System Integrators and Management Consulting firms, in one capacity or another, to develop business cases. Much of it, though the numbers count, still requires deep management consulting expertise. That's why the AI approach to business case development has proven to be highly effective at increasing the quality of each business case.
Regardless of implementation methodology chosen, it is clear that the secret to success is having SAP Consultants who are highly skilled. Our projects are typically very complex, with many moving parts. That's why our secret sauce is not so secret, we bring the best in the business to the table. Most projects, even apparently 'standard' SAP projects involving only core modules, still have specialized expertise needed, beyond the already highly specialized expertise it takes to implement the core modules of SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP PM, SAP EWM or SAP HCM, to name just a few of the 16 core SAP modules.
As an SAP Industry Principal, I specialized in fully understanding and leveraging SAP's specialized Industry Specific Solutions to meet client requirements. These Industry Specific Solution, for example, SAP Aerospace & Defense and SAP Professional Services, by themselves, often meet a client's industry requirements. The real advantage these solutions bring to the table is when you know how to combine them into a custom solution to meet the requirements of an business whose operations cross industry boundaries. For example, many airlines, who fly airplanes and fix them, also own large, often city sized, real estate holdings, and also need a specialized and flexible real estate management solution. No problem, you can combined SAP's Airline Solution, iMRO solution and SAP RE-FX, (flexible real-estate) solution into a comprehensive solution that can then be extended to meet even more business requirements.
In the course of building our SAP Consulting Services Company, we have also saw the need to establish our own SAP ABAP Software Factory, which we have done. But we also have developed a network of partners, who we leverage to deliver software solutions in specialized areas such as Salesforcce, Hubspot and cybersecurity.
