SAP DTP Error MessageTypically, when using a Data Transfer Process (DTP), your data will load successfully from the PSA into its data target (master data infoObject, DSO, InfoCube) without a problem. However, once in a while you will encounter an error (status light = red) due to bad data.

Rooster

While recently shopping in a Spanish grocery store, I saw eggs advertised as ‘Gallinas en Libertad’, which seems to mean ‘free at last’.  I have to admit, at first, I could think only of a Disney movie, and eventually, perhaps, that there was a bearded, wild eyed, Che Guevera of chickens somewhere, looking to set them 'Free at Last'.

Top 10 SAP Business Intelligence Industry Trends

TOP 10 BI Industry Trends

We recently got our Business Intelligence experts together and did a survey on what we see as the key Business Intelligence Trends affecting the vast majority of industries.  There has never been a more exciting time to be working in the BI industry, with projected global spend of more than $11,000,000.00 just this year, even among all the economic doom and gloom.  Of course, these trends are being driven by the continuing improvement of both hardware power and new analysis and statistical techniques.  Please give it a read and if you think there are some other trends out there that are even more important, we would love to hear about them.
  1. In-Memory Data Base, i.e., HANA or High Performance Analytic Appliance, deployment.
  2. Replacing transactional reports, i.e., SAP R/3 reports, with BW or OLAP Reports.
  3. Architected Datamarts and the deployment of Corporate Information Factory’s (CIF).

In today’s fast changing business environment, one of the hardest tasks of any business manager is learning how to ask ‘smart questions’.  By smart questions, I mean questions that when answered, will reveal meaningful ‘insight’ from seemingly disparate information.
